Transition

True to my earlier post, I did join Yoga. It was going good for a while and was starting to feel better as well. Used to be full of energy even during end of the day.
But things got bad. Everything was fine, until one day these people at Yoga started doing Bhajans instead of asanas. I don’t mind, if someone is into that sort of thing, or if someone is 50+ yrs for that matter, but am not.
Last i remember my reasons for joining were totally different and it certainly did not include bhajans. I wasn’t paying for that as well.
But not to be deterred from my pursuit of health and fitness, I have joined a gym.
The instructor is the same guy who’s the trainer in my company. His talk made a lot of sense to me and his gym is quite close to my place.
At least here, the only discomfort might be pop music early in the morning, something I am sure I can bear…

Yoga

29/11/2006

Having drawn inspiration from the Incredible India Ad [refer to the youtube link in the previous post...especially the last part]
I have decided to join Yoga with the target of one day learning that asana.
I have come to know that it may take anywhere between 2-5yrs to get my body that flexible. Guess I have to do it that long then. I feel as Indians we need to do things more that reflect our traditions , but at the same time not be fanatical and ignorant about other things happening elsewhere.

With that idea in mind…i finally joined yoga near my place[Girinagar]. I even got a cool batch from 7:30 – 8:30 in the morning. I can do Yoga, come back and then head for office. I had actually thought of joining yoga a while back…and had mentioned about it in a previous post…guess I needed some motivation to start me off.
