Today something quite special happened. It started in the morning when I came to office and found out that a snake had made itself comfortable in my office premises. I came down and went to investiagate.
I cursed myself for not having my SLR handy, and so decided to take my bike out and go get my camera (my house is only 20mins away ). Before I could leave, one of the security guards started to drive the snake towards a patchy green area near the office. So I got off my bike to take a look. I don’t know the exact identity of the snake but it certainly didn’t look like a "Cobra". Not every snake which lifts its head is a cobra! [Some people in my office actually thought so]
So as the security guard was driving the snake away from the office premises with a stick, the snake came upon an obstruction, being my bike. Sure enough, it started to go up the wheel and I watched as the snake made several trips examining the various sections of my bike. It was quite a sight.
Soon after, the snake got off my bike and dissapeared into the patchy green area. Wish I had my camera to document this in a better way. It was also a sad example of habitat destruction where animals/reptiles cross paths with human settlements.
My office got shifted to global village about 2 weeks ago and things have been looking up so to speak. It takes me roughly 15 mins to get there with all the traffic even though the distance is 10kms. Far better than riding into koramangala every morning. Also, the place is very nice, calm and clean.
There are lot of trees and there is even a very good football pitch where me and some colleagues regularly play football.
There are also a lot of birds in global village. I spotted the usual Brahmini Kite and the domestic crows. But I do see a lot of smaller sized birds. Also saw a couple of parakeets (i think). Even got glimpses of a bird whose body was black but had orange colored wings.
Anyway, the good thing about the place is I get to do a lot of birding. I dont get a lot of free time during office hours plan to photograph some birds during lunch breaks or during evening coffee breaks. I never used to take that evening break anyway..
Today, was heading back from work when I saw this near the entrance to global village. The light was perfect so I stopped to take a picture.
